CHRIS ZANOBINI
Chris Zanobini has been the Executive Director of the California Pear Advisory Board since April, 1996. He is responsible for the management and strategic direction of all board functions: promotion (domestic and export), research, standardization and inspection, along with representation on international trade, crisis management, and agricultural chemical use and restriction. Chris is also responsible for responding to regulatory and legislative issues and for establishing and publishing the fresh and processed grade standards and assessments for the industry.
Chris is a native of Northern California and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science from the University of California, Davis, and has completed post graduate work studies at California State University, Sacramento and San Francisco in education and business. Chris has also received a MBA in Management and Marketing through the Working Professional Program at the University of California, Davis.
Prior to taking the reins at CPAB, Chris was the Director of Floral at Dierbergs Markets in St. Louis, Mo. His strong background in perishable products comes not only from his vast experience in the floral industry, but from more than 35 years of his family’s involvement as growers, wholesalers, and retailers.
